Cirrus SR20

About to take off in our awesome little Cirrus SR20 just before sunrise from Death Valley Airport. (Elevation -210 ft!)

We rented it from a great flight school called +CalAirOnline, owned by Jonathan Lucas in Torrance, CA. If you're in L.A. area and ever wanted to learn how to fly, he's your man.

Wanted to give him a shoutout, because this plane is incredible and has my first time experience at this kind of adventure absolutely amazing!

Mining The Wind.

Mining The Wind... over Tehachapi, California
Yesterday, +Jessica Ambats and I flew over the Tehachapi Wind Farm. Who knew they farmed wind? Well, now I do... and so do you!

Here's what Wikipedia says about it; "It was one of the first large-scale wind farms installed in the U.S.The area hosts a multitude of wind farms, comprising one of California's largest wind resource areas.. The older generation turbines generate kilowatts, and the modern turbines installed generate up to 3 megawatts, depending...

My Back Yard

My Back Yard

Today I'm enjoying all my great friends on G+!!  We are getting 8-11 in. of snow and this is my back yard just a few minutes ago!!

I'm enjoying using my first 'big girl' camera, a Canon 6D with the 24-105 mm wide angle lens!!  It has such a great feel!!

Though the grass is covered with snow, I'll offer up my bamboo or what's left of it for +Grass Tuesday !!  The bird feeder is covered and the birds are waiting for this to pass!!  1.5 in on the ground and 10 more to come!!

*Do you enjoy ...

Switch... Truckee, California

Switch... Truckee, California
For some reason, the bare trunks of the skinny aspens reminded her of her Grandmother. Namely, the switches Gram made out of wee saplings and kept on hand with threats of taking them to tender backsides in the (highly unlikely) event young children should misbehave. It was clearly another era.

Back from an amazing adventure, I'm now catching up and catching my breath. A warm fall photo felt like just the ticket .

One Night in Rio de Janeiro

Karen Hutton shared Fefo Bouvier's post with you.
I love sharing my fave photographers... and haven't been doing it enough!

Today, meet +Fefo Bouvier if you haven't already. He's an abfab, awesomely wonderful artist in Uruguay. I actually encouraged his coming over here to G+ after we met over on that other social site. :)

I love how he processes his work... and REALLY love experiencing another part of the world that I've never seen through his eyes. Plus, he's a super cool and nice guy.

I hope you circle him up if you haven't! He'll brighten up ...

One Night in Rio de Janeiro

I spent one night in Rio de Janeiro after having some great time in Buzios. I'm totally fascinated with the geography of this place, and Brazil in general. I love it!

The picture was taken from the Sugarloaf Mountain, looking to the Corcovado mountain where you can see the great statue of "Christ the Redeemer".

Can't wait to be back again!
